Meenkilly’s Football team competed in the Cumann na mBunscol competition this year.

Our 5th and 6th class team did us all very proud. They trained weekly with their coach Michael Lenihan, whom dedication and hard work is always much appreciated. He was assisted by many parents throughout our journey in this competition- many thanks to Kevin, Mike, Brian and Shane.

Our team faced a very tough competition this year and played in some awful conditions.
Having qualified for the final, the team were very hopeful for the final the following day.

We were super proud of all the boys and girls who got to the final in Mike Neville Park.
They played a blinder but it wasn’t their day. The team were very proud to bring silver medals home.

Presentation of Silver Medals.

The medals were presented by Meenkilly’s very own Caoimhe McGrath, Limerick Ladies Footballer. Caoimhe is a past pupil of Meenkilly NS and we are very proud of all her achievements.
Many thanks to Maurice , Séamus , Kevin and Mike for coming to present the medals to the team also.
Special presentation was made to our captains Nathan agus Eva from Caoimhe, Maurice and Seamus.
