The whole school enjoyed six fantastic weeks of tennis with Sinéad as part of our Active Flag journey! Sinéad brought all the equipment and made the sessions fun and inclusive. Tennis is a great way to stay active—and even live longer! It was especially great for children who prefer non-contact sports, helping to develop hand-eye coordination and confidence.
Over the past few weeks, the children learned far more than just how to hit a tennis ball. They picked up the basics of rallying, practiced their footwork, and even got the hang of keeping score — all while having fun and growing in confidence. Every session was filled with laughter, high fives, and the satisfying thwack of rackets meeting balls.
What made it all the more special was Sinéad herself. She had a fantastic rapport with the kids — patient, encouraging, and always full of energy. She brought out the very best in each child, helping them to believe in their abilities and celebrate their progress, no matter how big or small.
As we say goodbye to our tennis Wednesdays, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to Sinéad. You’ve not only taught the children the skills of the game, but you’ve also passed on your passion, enthusiasm, and love for tennis. And for that, we’re incredibly grateful.
