Spring in Junior & Senior Infants

This month the Junior and Senior Infants are learning all about Spring. They are enjoying the Spring themed Aistear activities in our classroom Flower Shop and Farmer’s Market. We are excited to watch our cress seeds, which have sprouted, and are growing each day.

Worm Towers

Students are learning about the importance of good soil health and the role that worms play in the garden. 5th and 6th class students helped to install Worm Towers in the polytunnel. This will reduce waste in school and improve the soil quality of the vegetable beds.
Harvest from the Polytunnel

The over-winter cabbage in our school polytunnel was ready to be harvested in February. 5th and 6th gladly took to the task, giving each student in Junior and Senior Infants a cabbage head each to take home to their families.
