Just before the mid-term break, Meenkilly National School held a fantastic Halloween Dress-Up CéilÃ, and what a spooktacular day it was! From Junior Infants all the way up to Sixth Class, every pupil took part, filling the hall with colour, music, laughter, and lots of lively dance steps.
The children enjoyed learning and performing a wonderful mix of traditional and modern dances, including:
- Sean Waltz
- Cuir Bróg ar an…
- Ionsaà na hInse (3rd–6th Class)
- An DreoilÃn
- Cha Cha Lurgan
- Damhsa Bualadh Bos (YouTube: Clap Dance)
- Hokey Pokey
There was great excitement as pupils partnered up, worked together, and encouraged one another on the dance floor. Céilà dancing is not only a fun cultural tradition, but it also supports our Active Flag goals by helping children stay fit, develop coordination, build confidence, and learn the importance of teamwork.
Well done to all our dancers for their energy, enthusiasm, and Halloween spirit. We are already looking forward to our next school céilÃ!
