Wishing our boys all the very best this morning as they set off for their Cumann na mBunscol blitz. We promised to keep everyone posted—and what a day it has been!

After a tremendous run, our boys reached the Division 1 Final but were narrowly defeated by Broadford, losing out by just a single point. Naturally they are disappointed, but we could not be prouder of their effort, determination, and the way they represented Meenkilly NS from start to finish. Their performance was superb, and their sportsmanship exemplary.

Medals will be presented to the team at a later date, but for now we want to congratulate them on a fantastic display of heart, teamwork, and spirit. We look forward to welcoming them back to school shortly 👏🏻

A special mention must go to our three captains — Oisín, Jack and Gearóid. You led by example today and played out of your skins. Your leadership, resilience, and commitment shone through, and we are incredibly proud of each of you.

To all the other players on the team and panel, your dedication and team spirit have been exceptional. We are gutted for you, but we are beyond proud of everything you achieved in reaching today’s final. What a journey you have given us.

To coaches Mike and Shane, we are deeply grateful for your support, guidance, and the hours of training in Mountcollins every week. Reaching a final does not happen by accident—your commitment made it possible.

We will present the 14 boys with their Mini 7s runners-up medals before Christmas.

“First of all I would like to congratulate the whole panel on a huge achievement in getting to the Division 1 final. Their play, decision making, defensive and offensive play was an absolute joy to watch and to say I am proud of them is an understatement. The boys are an absolute credit to ye. Thank you for your dedication in bringing them to training the last few months and to all who travelled today to support them.

To Shane, thank you for all your help, support and guidance to me and the players. We all really appreciate what you do for us.

To all the staff at Meenkilly NS, thanks for your support and for the wonderful reception given to the boys when they came back today. This year has shown the talent our players have and that we can compete with anyone. With the hard work and dedication that both our girls and boys have shown this year, the future is so bright for them all.

To Kelley, thanks so much for your wonderful support, guidance and leadership to myself and all the children. I really appreciate it.
