Our 3rd to 6th class pupils enjoyed a wonderful and energetic day out on the Barnagh Greenway as part of our Active Flag programme. The fresh air, exercise and fun made for a truly memorable experience for all involved.

Learning how to cycle is a valuable life skill that offers a wide range of benefits for children. Not only does it promote physical fitness by strengthening muscles and improving coordination, but it also supports mental well-being by boosting confidence and independence. Cycling encourages outdoor activity, helping children connect with nature and develop a love for movement. It’s also an eco-friendly mode of transport, teaching responsibility and environmental awareness from a young age. Most importantly, learning to cycle opens the door to fun, freedom, and adventure – skills and memories that last a lifetime.

Míle buíochas to Eamonn and Eileen for their invaluable help with setting up this morning — your support is greatly appreciated.

A special thank you also to Ms Shanahan, Ms Nolan and Genevieve for accompanying the children and ensuring everything ran smoothly.

It was another successful and active school outing, helping us on our journey towards achieving our Active Flag and, most importantly, creating lasting memories for our pupils.
