At Meenkilly NS, we take pride in offering our pupils exciting and enriching active school tours each year.
This year, our Junior Infants to 2nd Class pupils enjoyed a fun-filled day at Mallow Leisure Centre as part of the Let’s Go School Tour. The day was packed with engaging activities designed to promote fitness, fun, and friendship.
Our school tour to Mallow was nothing short of amazing! The day was jam-packed with exciting activities that had the children smiling from ear to ear and bursting with energy from start to finish.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear this would be a day to remember. One of the biggest hits was the Wrecking Ball—the children absolutely loved trying to knock each other off while balancing and laughing the whole time! But without a doubt, Zorb Ball stole the show. It quickly became the all-time favourite, with everyone taking turns and cheering each other on.
The fun didn’t stop there. The Wobble Ladder tested balance and bravery, while the Air Jump had the kids flying through the air in fits of laughter. They also bounced their way across the Air Mountain, with giggles echoing all around.
The whole day was action-packed and full of fun, giving the children the chance to run, jump, play, and most importantly, make memories that will last a lifetime. It was a truly fantastic experience that they’ll be talking about for weeks to come. A big thank you to everyone who helped make it happen!

Our 3rd to 6th Class pupils travelled to Star Outdoors in Kenmare Adventure Centre, where they experienced a wide range of both land and water-based activities. With well-designed and thoroughly tested packages, every student had the opportunity to challenge themselves, build confidence, and create unforgettable memories.
The tour also placed a strong emphasis on personal growth. Through team building, communication, planning, and leadership tasks, our students strengthened their foundational skills while having an incredible time outdoors.

These active school tours are a highlight of the year and a testament to our commitment to developing the whole child—body, mind, and spirit.
